Maryland Basketball Announces Signing of Sara Vujacic

To say Maryland basketball went through the longest 14 months would be a massive understatement. After losing key players to graduation following the 2016-2017 season (both high WNBA draft picks by the way), Destiny Slocum transferring out (now at Oregon State) and then seeing an overachieving roster fall just short of another B1G championship, head coach Brenda Frese and her staff made it a major priority to reload its talent stock in order to not just win future B1G titles, but put itself back in the title favorites discussion. Already with the 5th-ranked 2018 recruiting class, Maryland announced the signing of Sara Vujacic (sister of former Laker and NBA star Sasha Vujacic) out of Walter State College in Tennessee. As a 5’11 guard, Vujacic averaged over 16 ppg, shot over 45% from deep and was an above average faciliator as well. Considering Maryland ranked 8th nationally from deep (despite having woefully inconsistent 3-point shots from all but two players), Vujacic’s arrival means that Maryland will probably stay in the top-10, if not the very top in many offensive categories.
